Frequently Asked Questions

Practical Details:

What if I arrive in Omaha on Friday after 4? How do I get to the conference?
We'll leave directions at the hotel desk and with the Hampton Shuttle. The last conference shuttle will leave the hotel at 3:45 p.m. to go to Creighton's campus. But the small Hampton Hotel shuttle can get you there for free. It will take you to Deglman Circle at 25th and California Street. Walk straight west on the pedestrian mall. St. John's Church will be on your right and the Student Center, just ahead on your left. Walk up the brick pathway to the main entrance of the student center in the doors on the right hand side. Take the stairs down one flight and on your right is Room 104.

I'm bringing some brochures to hand out. Where do I take them?
Leave them in your hotel room on Friday night. You can bring them on Saturday morning and we'll have a display table set up all day long.

If I bring my laptop, can I check e-mail?
Yes. Creighton is a wireless campus and the buildings we will be in, both on Friday night and Saturday, have wireless accessibility.

Can I check e-mail and get a boarding pass at the hotel?
Yes. The Hampton Inn has high-speed wireless access in each room, as well as a 24-hour business center with internet and e-mail access and a printer.

How will local transportation be handled?
With ease! Omaha’s Eppley Airport is less than five miles (10 min.) from the hotel

  • When you arrive, call the hotel for the free shuttle: 402-345-5500.  Creighton's campus
Retrieve your luggage first, then call.  It might take 10-15 minutes but the shuttle is often on the way to the airport and it could be faster.

  • If you don’t want to wait, a taxi should be less than $10 before tip.

  • Creighton has arranged for shuttles to pick you up from the hotel on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. We’ll get you back to the hotel both nights after dinner.

  • Sunday morning transportation back to the airport is your choice - free hotel shuttle or taxi.

What about the weather?
We're sorry you will miss the experience of a legendary winter storm on the plains, but you can expect the weather in early November to be crisp and autumnal. There might still be some late color on the many trees in Omaha. In the first week of November, the average temperature is in the 40’s, so plan for it to be a little cooler at night, a little warmer in the daytime sun. It’s usually a beautiful time of year to visit Omaha.

And if I eat too much Omaha steak?
Not a worry. The Hampton Inn has an indoor pool, a whirlpool and an exercise facility.
