Isaiah 29:17-24
Psalms 27:1, 4, 13-14
Matthew 9:27-31

The themes for today are ASK, WAIT, and HAVE FAITH.

Isaiah 29:18 says:  "In that day the deaf shall hear the words of a book, and out of their gloom and darkness the eyes of the blind shall see."

Psalms 27:13-14 says:  "I believe that I shall see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living!  Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the LORD!"

Matthew 9:27-30 says:  "And as Jesus passed on from there, two blind men followed him, crying aloud, "Have mercy on us, Son of David."

When he entered the house, the blind men came to him; and Jesus said to them,  "Do you believe that I am able to do this?"  They said to him,  "Yes, Lord."

Then he touched their eyes, saying,  "According to your faith be it done to you."  And their eyes were opened....

___________

In reading the above passages, it reminds me how many times I have asked to "see" the right path, "know" the right way.  How many times mothers and fathers, college students, faculty, staff, grandmothers and grandfathers, and children are seeking -- listening for the Lord -- to help them find the right way.

The refrain from the Psalm:  "Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; yea, wait for the LORD!" is a reminder that people over the ages have hungered for guidance for the right direction...

So much depends on the faith we bring to the request.

In Matthew, Jesus says:  "According to your faith be it done to you."

Lord, at this time -- the beginning of Advent -- help us increase in faith so that we may truly "see" the right way to proceed, the right path to choose, so that we can become all that you made us to be -- for your greater honor and glory.

We believe you will answer our prayers because of your past kindness and generosity.
