Marcia Shadle-Cusic
Chaplain School of Medicine.
I began working at Creighton in 1999.
More about me:

I am married and have 4 children.  I have learned a lot about life through my family.  I have come to understand what unconditional love is all about and how it feels, the values of sharing and working hard to reach goals.  I have come to appreciate and value the importance of healthy families and the roles families play in making our world a more peaceful and respectful place in which to live.

I grew up in Columbus, NE, and can't remember a time in my life when God wasn't present.  I lived across the street from our church so even when school was out I was able to attend daily Mass, which I did fairly regularly!  I developed a wonderful circle of friends in grade school and surprisingly we have all stayed close over the course of our lives.  Life for me is exciting, challenging, and filled with wonder.  I have always asked questions to seek out a deeper understanding or to create a new way of responding to a situation (and have been blessed with a daughter, our youngest, who hasn't stopped asking questions since she began talking!)  I love people with a sense of humor and try never to take myself too seriously!

Writing these reflections:

I do look forward to participating in the daily reflection as a way to remind myself to stay centered and focused on the word/message from God.  As I hurry, taking care of all my responsibilities, the daily reflections help me to stay focused on what really matters and what God has planned for me to do with my life.  The daily reflections, for me, brings me in touch with the strong faith community here at Creighton and I am grateful that I can be a part of this community.
