For many years, we have been asking the question, “What has Love got to do with it?” Well, if we are referring to real love (Agape), then it has everything to do with our lives. True love has been shown by God when he gave his only begotten son, Jesus Christ, to pay the price for our sins, so that we shall be saved.

In I John 4, we find that God first loved us. Because of his love, we have been forgiven of our sins, if we believe in him. Sometimes it is hard to believe, but God loved us when we were unlovable. We have a responsibility to love each other. We so often find ourselves saying how much we love God, but the scriptures challenges us by asking the question, how can we love God whom we have never seen, and fail to love our brother which we see daily. The truth is not in us. When we can love each other as brothers and sisters, then God’s spirit dwells in us. God is Love.

Psalms 72 is a prayer for the king, especially the King’s son. It was a comfort to David that his own son was to be his successor, but more especially that he was likely to be judicious and righteous. We all should have the spirit of desiring and endeavoring that those that come after us would be able to give better service to God than we were able to.

In Mark 6:45-52, we find the disciples out on the sea in a boat that was being battered by the angry winds and the waves. They looked and saw someone walking on the water them. They were very fearful until they realized that it was Jesus. Jesus was able to calm the winds and the waves. Sometimes we may think that Christ doesn’t hear our plea or see us in need, but he knows all about us, and he’s always right on time.

We can be encouraged to know that God has all power in his hands. He loves us so that he provides a way back to him through Salvation. He comes to our rescue on time and in his own time.
