GOD IS WITH US

I love the Our Father.  This is the New American Bible version.  Please pray with me and add your own prayers.

Our Father in heaven may your name be held holy

Thank you Lord, Father and Mother of us all.  You created us in your image and likeness.

                                Your kingdom come.

Thank you Lord, that your “kingdom”, love and peace, can be experienced right here, right now.  Your Spirit is alive in our world when we look for her.  All of those who work for Goodness live and remind us to live your kingdom here.

Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven

Thank you Lord that, when our hearts’ desires are for love and goodness, we can be persons who live your will.  Thank you for many saints, including Ignatius of Loyola, Mother Teresa of Calcutta, etc., who have shown us that deeds of love shout loudly about Your Presence.

Give us today our daily bread.

Thank you Lord, that you nourish our lives with people who love and care for us.  Thank you for your invitation to reach out to others with loving kindness each day.

And forgive us our debts, as we have forgiven those
Who are in debt to us.

Thank you Lord that you teach us that forgiveness is more than saying words, “please forgive me…I forgive you”.  Words need to be followed by a change of heart and behaviors.  Thank you Lord that you do and have forgiven us and you send us teachers who tell us we need to forgive ourselves.

And do not put us to the test and save us from the evil one.

Thank you Lord that we can trust you do not test us.  Life tests us.  You are always with us to support and encourage us.

Your Father/Mother knows what you need before you ask…”

Thank you Lord, Father and Mother of us all, that you are as close to us as our own breath.  We trust that you are constantly showing us your unconditional love.  You send us people who help us read your words of love in our life experiences.
Amen.
