Memorial of Sts. Cornelius and Cyprian
[447] 1 Timothy 6:2c-12
Psalm 49:6-7, 8-10, 17-18, 19-20
Luke 8:1-3

In today’s Gospel Reading, we read “…Jesus journeyed from one town and village to another,…Accompanying him were the Twelve and some women…Mary…Joanna…Susanna, and others who provided for them out of their resources.”

While much conflicting literature has been written of Mary, “…called Magalene…” we know less of Joanna, Susanna, and the ‘other’ women.  Who were they?  What were their life stories?  How was it they accompanied Jesus and provided resources for Jesus and the Twelve?

I pray in solitude, in gratitude, in wonder, and with prayers of question and imagination.  Who were these invisible un-named ‘other’ women?  I regret I do not know.
