Kyle Shinseki, S.J.

Jesuit scholastic and
chaplain in the Heider College of Business
and Kenefick Hall

More about me:

I am Jesuit scholastic in formation for the priesthood who has been missioned to Creighton University for my Regency.  Regency is a period of a Jesuit's training that involves full-time apostolic ministry prior to moving on to Theology Studies.  I serve as Coordinator for Asian/Pacific Islander initiatives in the Office of Multicultural Affairs, Chaplain and Adjunct Lecturer in the College of Business, and Chaplain for Kenefick Hall.

I was born in Honolulu and raised on the island of Kaua‘i, Hawai'i.  Prior to entering the Jesuits, I studied urban planning and business administration as well as worked in the nonprofit and private sectors.  In 2009, I entered the Jesuit Novitiate in Berkley, Michigan as a member of the Chicago (now Chicago-Detroit) Province of the Jesuits.  After two years of Novitiate and two years of First Studies (philosophy and theology) at Loyola University Chicago, I began my Regency here at Creighton.   I enjoy cooking as well as sampling a variety of ethnic cuisines.

Writing these reflections:

I look forward to sharing the many blessings I have received through my Jesuit formation with the people of God through this online ministry.
