Cindy Costanzo

Senior Associate Dean, College of Nursing

More about me:

I have been at Creighton University College of Nursing for 10+ years and currently serve as the Senior Associate Dean, as well as the Program Chair for the Master of Science in Nursing program. I am also the curriculum coordinator for the Doctor in Nursing Practice (DNP) Clinical System Administration track and the Clinical Nurse Leader track.  I have also agreed to serve as the Department Chair for Interdisciplinary Studies. I have enjoyed my time tremendously at CU and have had many opportunities to participate in campus wide initiatives related to Partners in Mission, Faculty Seminar for Ignatian Spirituality, Creighton Colleagues program as well as several academic initiatives.  I have a strong interest in women and leadership.  I currently co-facilitate the Leadership Scholars program within the CON and enjoy working with others as they develop in their leadership roles.

I have been married to my wonderful husband Bill Costanzo for 37 years who is retired and enjoying the fruits of his labor. We have 4 children who are successful and moving forward in their careers. Our oldest daughter is an accountant for the U.S. government in Kansas City; our oldest son has a PhD in Chemical Engineering and works as a research scientist and lives in Indianapolis, Indiana; our youngest daughter is a pharmacist and a Creighton alum and my youngest son is a Registered Nurse and also a Creighton alum.  We are a very close family and travel and visit each other often!

Writing these reflections:

Reflective time is so important and valuable and writing these reflections gives me additional time alone with my God to savor the words, to visualize their meaning and to write down my thoughts. I have benefited so much by this wonderful ministry and hope my thoughts and words do the same for others.
