Beth Furlong

I am an Associate Professor in the Center for Health Policy and Ethics and have taught in the School of Nursing at Creighton for almost four decades. I teach in the online master’s program in Health Care Ethics.  My professional education includes a M.S. in Nursing, a PhD in Political Science, and a JD.

More about me:

Bob Ramaley and I have been married for 16 years and cherish the six grandchildren.

One of the passions in my life is international service, work, and travel.  Some of my experiences include being a Peace Corps Volunteer in rural villages, South India, having Fulbright Fellowships in Jordan and Hungary, and teaching in Lithuania, the country Georgia, and Azerbaijan.  I have valued Jesuit Immersion trips in the Dominican Republic and the Tribal States of Northeast India as well as consulting on nursing education in Armenia.

Writing these reflections:

For many years I have been a member of a Women’s Writing Group.  While I joined the group to enhance my professional writing, I have been inspired by the other women’s work to write more of my personal life.  I value putting in writing my reflections along my spiritual journey.
