Consider Christian Life Community

Ignatian Spirituality:

Based on Gospel values
A way to find God in daily life
Apostolic in its spirit
A spirituality for laity

Community:

You become intimate with the kind of persons you want for your best friend.
You are part of a world community, expressed with the few in your local group.
This occurs by meeting regularly, with a simple structure.
There is enough structure and guidance to foster a deep level of sharing.
Networking with other regional and national communities expands your experience.

Mission:

Your prayer and the community regularly remind you to live Gospel values in yoru life.
You are challenged to be a change agent in your life's context.
If married, you and your spouse can collaborate in bringing Christ and his values into your home and neighborhood.
The program, with Scripture and other formation materials, promotes justice for all.

EXPERIENCE

Small Group Sharing • Meeting Twice a Month

FOR A FEW MONTHS . . . THEN DECIDE.

AND ALSO . . .

  • Christian Life Communities (previously the "Sodality of our Lady") was founded by a Jesuit in the sixteenth century. CLC exists in 64 countries, with the world headquarters in Rome.
  • The members are inspired by Mary's obedience to God and the desire of Jesus to bring about the Kingdom of God more fully.
  • Essential to the CLC gatherings is the process of Faith Sharing: members listen respectfully to each other in a non-judgemental atmosphere and learn now to live the Christian life more fully.
  • A national magazine (Harvest) a Regional Newsletter, and visits from a Regional Assistant further assist personal and community growth.
  • Expectations: regular prayer; regular attendance at community meetings; financial support of the movement according to one's means.

WHAT MEMBERS SAY:

Without the spirituality of CLC, I wouldn't have life.

Sharing the same goals and struggles with friends give my spiritual life persistence and practicality.

I have formed and belonged to many small groups, but none has bonded like this - in less than a year.

... and then I realized that CLC is not just meetings but an influence in everything I do - a way of life.

Mission's global connotation frightened me. Now I know God defines it for me - teaching Learning Disabled, caring for an ill spouse, etc.
