In Pabbo, a refugee camp for some 67,000 IDP's [Internally Displaced Persons], the World Food Program gives each family 50 KG of Maize, 25 KG of beans, and 5 liters of cooking oil per month. It usually lasts about two weeks, with one meal per day.

The refugees often supplant their diet with cassava, a tree root which is pounded into a paste. They don't cultivate more than 2 KM from the camp for fear of abduction from the rebels. Text and Photo by Don Doll, S.J.Read the Sharing that our readers sent us one recent Lent.

We invited 50 people who regularly use our site to prayerfully read this powerful book and to share with us the graces they receive, reflecting upon it during Lent. Each week we added their sharing here and on the links to the right.

We invited Fr. Gary Smith, S.J. to Creighton's Campus.

Watch a Video of his wonderful presentation to us.
