We have been blessed immensely by the Lord our God.  He has given us the gift of life and has let us inhabit and tend to his Earth.  He sent his only son to die for our sins and he is always looking over us, protecting and loving us.  We sometimes think, “How do we repay the Lord for all that he has done for us?”  The answer is that we cannot; but we are called to believe in him and his great power.  We must believe that he will always be there for us and believe that he has the best intentions for us.  We must allow the Lord to guide our lives.  One of my favorite Bible verses comes from Jeremiah 29:11, "'For I know the plans I have for you,' said the Lord. 'They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and hope.'"  Trust in the Lord and you shall find success and happiness.

In order to allow the Lord to guide our life, we must dedicate our spirit to him.  Today’s Gospel says, “It is the Spirit that gives life, while the flesh is of no avail.”  Our flesh means nothing to the Lord compared to our spirit.  We must develop our spirit and keep it strong.  This can be accomplished through prayer and reflection.  As our spirit grows, so does our bond with the Lord.

God Bless.
