In today’s Gospel reading, Jesus is comforting his disciples about what is going to happen when he leaves them. These verses are very comforting when I don’t know what to expect from this life. I am reminded that this world is temporary and only a glimpse of what is to come—Jesus is with the Father and he is preparing a place for me. There is a spot in heaven for each of us and God is just waiting for us to come home. All we have to do is trust in him and in his Son and we are guaranteed an eternity with no trials, no fears, and no worries. So, today, let us each take a moment to reread the Gospel passage and remember just how much our Father loves us. |
