Hello readers! I hope that the summer is treating you all well.  I think that today’s first reading is really an awesome message that I know I overlook far too often.  When I read “proclaim the word; be persistent whether it is convenient or inconvenient; convince, reprimand, encourage through all patience and teaching” (2 Tim 4:2), it really hit me how we are constantly being called to speak up and show God’s presence and love, but I know that I fail at this all the time.  I think that this reading came at the perfect time for me, as I am kind of struggling with a few issues right now that could really benefit from God being put in the center of the situation. 

It often isn’t easy to speak to friends or family about our faith, but it is necessary.  As our reading for today says, “From now on the crown of righteousness awaits me, which the Lord, the just judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me, but to all who have longed for his appearance” (2 Tim 4:8), so I know that I need to remember this the next time I am a little uncomfortable talking to someone about my faith- in the end, it is all worth it.
