I was recently in a situation where doing the right thing was really a scary prospect, but I felt that not doing anything was not the right thing to do. In college, we are often put in situations where speaking out against our peers is daunting. However, I have been raised since I was a small child to stand up for what I believe in. I hope that my actions helped others to feel that they could speak up as well and, through this, to live the way God wants us to. The Gospel for today drives this point home when Luke tells us, “Whoever listens to you listens to me. Whoever rejects you rejects me. And whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me." (Lk 10:16) I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and a great October! |
