“Whoever listens to you listens to me.  Whoever rejects you rejects me. And whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me." -Lk 10:16 Happy Friday!  I hope you have all had a great week!  In today’s Gospel, Luke is relaying Jesus’ message about rejecting God.  This point especially struck me for some reason, and it really made me think.  In today’s world, it is very easy to act in ways that do not give God the praise he deserves.  We do this through both our actions and words, and sometimes even through our inaction or silence. 

I was recently in a situation where doing the right thing was really a scary prospect, but I felt that not doing anything was not the right thing to do. In college, we are often put in situations where speaking out against our peers is daunting. However, I have been raised since I was a small child to stand up for what I believe in. I hope that my actions helped others to feel that they could speak up as well and, through this, to live the way God wants us to.  The Gospel for today drives this point home when Luke tells us, “Whoever listens to you listens to me.  Whoever rejects you rejects me. And whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me." (Lk 10:16)  I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and a great October!
