A member of the Servants of Mary, she held a number of administrative postions within her order, including a term as Provincial for the United States. Her long career in education included teaching in grade school, high school and college. Her opening to work with the poor came with the March in Selma, Alabama in 1965. She lived and ministered on the missions of Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies. A Transforming Advent All of us have areas of our lives that are imperfect and need healing. The Church offers us Advent as a time of healing and grace each year. Sr. Mary's reflections will include the Holy Family, their lives of poverty and the ways we face it in our lives. She
will offer suggestions for ways to pray about global poverty and
yet look at ways in which we can take action each day in our own
lives. |
