Chaplain, School of Law Professor, Communication Studies |

More about me: I arrived at Creighton University shortly after Christmas 2010, grateful for my new assignment to be Chaplain of the University's School of Law and to teach part time in its Department of Communication Studies. I will also be giving retreats, doing some spiritual direction, and collaborating with Creighton's Deglman Center for Spirituality. Before coming to Creighton, I taught full time: at Boston College (15 years), and before that at the Jesuit Sogang University in Seoul, Korea (13 years). I'm thrilled to be here, and to be able work out of our Jesuit Community doing what I most love to do: to be available to others as a teacher and as a Jesuit Priest. |

Writing these reflections: It's very fulfilling to write these reflections for Creighton's online ministry. It gives me the chance to help others think and pray through passages of scripture from the Church's Lectionary -- not only for the Creighton community but also on a global scale. One of our former Jesuit General Superiors, Pedro Arrupe, used to say that, wherever we can, we should use the "multiplier effect" in pursuit of our mission. This website is the best instrument for the multiplier effect in service of the Word of God that I know, and I'm very grateful for it. |
