More about me:

I currently work as a Specialist for the Institute for Latin American Concern (ILAC) at Creighton University, and have been part of the Creighton community since 2013.  The ILAC department at Creighton is housed under the Division of Mission and Ministry, and our programs emphasize the importance of global vision and understanding in the process of educating well-rounded individuals.  The ILAC Center in the Dominican Republic is an international, Catholic, Ignatian-inspired, collaborative health care and educational organization that exists to promote the integral well-being and spiritual growth of all participants.  Previously, I held the ILAC Program Coordinator position, directly coordinating and facilitating 17 programs in the Dominican Republic.  The ILAC-Creighton office coordinates and facilitates 27 programs, including high schools, undergraduate programs, pre-professional healthcare programs and medical/surgical missions.

I grew up in Buxton, Maine and attended Cheverus Jesuit High School in Portland, Maine.  From there I earned a dual degree in Spanish and Peace and Global Studies from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York, a Jesuit institute.  During my undergraduate career I was very active in community service, and participated in an international service-immersion program to Quito, Ecuador, volunteering at The Working Boy's Center.  Following Le Moyne, I spent a year teaching English as a second language at a Catholic school in Collado Villalba, Madrid, Spain.  I taught roughly 500 students, ages ranging from three to eighteen years old, and worked with teachers to develop an advanced ESL curriculum for each grade level.

I am extremely blessed to have attended both a Jesuit high school and university, and now have the opportunity to work for Creighton.  I believe in a faith that does justice, and I firmly believe that I am called to love and to serve, both God and neighbor.  Ever since my youth, I was actively involved in service with Boy Scouts of America (BSA) and went on to earn my Eagle Award.  The idea of service and accompaniment intrigued me, and my service in the BSA and high school inspired me to create positive change in the world.  Learning about Jesuit values and Ignatian spirituality in high school seemed only natural; my personal beliefs and values align with those of St. Ignatius and the Jesuits.

My interests include tennis, kayaking, hiking and traveling. I am currently pursing a Masters in Medical Anthropology and have a strong interest in global public health.
