I am a beloved, forgiven son of God, partner and husband for and with Sara, father for and with Emma and Lilian, and called to companion conscious and sustainable leaders in higher education. I am President Emeritus of Iowa Wesleyan University and currently a Visiting Scholar in the Division of Mission and Ministry at Creighton through July 2021. As a product of Jesuit higher education (Marquette, Boston College, and Creighton), I am grateful for the privilege and experience to deepen my appreciation for Jesuit higher education and for the spirituality that ignites and animates it. |

| Writing these reflections:
Discernment is one of the great gifts Ignatius has given through the Spiritual Exercises and Ignatian Spirituality. Writing these reflections helps me to be more grounded in gratitude and to be more conscious of God’s laboring in and for my life and in and for the lives of others. These reflections have been an important reminder for me that everything, indeed, does have the potential to deepen God’s life in me. |
