The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; upon those who dwelt in the land of gloom a light has shone. -Is 9:1

We are lost in our lives. With everything that is going on in our lives sometimes we lose ourselves in the chaos. We must keep God in our lives to remind us that he is our light. God is the only treasure we need in our lives. We have too many treasures on earth; they are but mere distractions to the focus of our lives: staying on the path to heaven and reaching paradise with God.

We are uncertain of our paths. There are many influencing forces in our lives that can be found in family, media, friends, etc. There is a video of the song “Everything” by Lifehouse. If you would like to watch it, watch it to the end, please. The video starts out portraying a girl with God and happy with God. Then, as she goes through life, there are many influencing forces that push her farther and farther away from God. But in the end she finds God again, and it is very powerful. No matter how far we stray from God, he will never abandon us. He is our light forever, and God is “Everything”.

We are surrounded by darkness. Satan is present in our lives with bad influences and encourages sin. We must try our best to recognize the bad influences present in our lives, for the reason we are lost in darkness and uncertain of our path is due to the work of Satan. Let's not let Satan keep us from God; instead, let us be strong and resistant to bad influences in our lives. If we keep God in our lives, the darkness will turn to light.

We must listen to God in all of his teachings, for God is our light and our salvation.
