“Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes in the one who sent me has eternal life and will not come to condemnation, but has passed from death to life.” -John 5:24

When I was reading this Gospel passage, this verse really stood out. When I hear Jesus say this it reminds me of how much power God has and how he can save us simply in our believing in him. There are days when I feel that God has deserted me and I question if there really is a God, but he always seems to find a way to prove to me that he is here and does love and care about me. He wants me to always believe in him and if I trust in him completely he will make sure that I am taken care of.

This verse also reminds me that even if I don’t have everything in this life but live a life that is dedicated to him, then I will be rewarded with eternal life with him in Heaven. This reminds me that the life I am suppose to live is one that is dedicated to serving God and pleasing him. There will be days when I feel like nothing is going my way, but those are the days that I really need to trust in God.  When we trust him completely and believe in his word then we will be saved and have eternal life with him in Heaven.

During Lent I pray that we all feel a new strength in our relationship with him and that we feel his presence while we prepare for Easter.
