Acts 13:13-25
Ps 89:2-3, 21-22, 25 and 27
Jn 13:16-20

In the first reading, Paul describes the still-pending arrival of the Savior, Jesus.  He describes him as a holy man who would come after him to save the people from their sins.  He claimed that he was not even worthy of unfastening the sandals of this great man.  His reverence should be an excellent example of how we should prepare for the Savior to return once again.  We will never know when this date is near so we must always be prepared.  We must treat those who walk beside us with the utmost respect and never forget our faith.  If we put our trust and hope in God then he will help guide us on the path towards everlasting life.

One thing we tend to forget is that Jesus is not a different being than God himself.  We tend to separate the two into different individuals who serve different purposes.  We often do not realize that in doing this we are devaluing the trinity.  Jesus is the Son of God, but he is not a different being.  He is instead an extension of God’s love for us and was sent to us to die for our sins.  He is the ultimate example of God’s love for his creation and it shows how much he is willing to do in order to protect us.  Let us remember that love and hold it in our hearts and minds forever.

God Bless.
