“He had cured many and, as a result, those who had diseases were pressing upon him to touch him.” Mark 3:10

How confident are we in this healing power of God? The people of Jesus’ time rushed towards him with the faith that with a simple touch of his clothes might come healing. We can experience this same power in our encounter with Christ today. We find ourselves feeling sick; do we not immediately rush to the doctor? We want to heal a broken family; our society looks to Dr. Phil. Relationship troubles arise; maybe Oprah will have a show on that? Addiction struggles, many fall into despair.
Perhaps however we should first fall on our knees before our Lord. Do we doubt that he can reconcile any relationship, heal any broken family, and cure any disease?

With this ultimate trust and faith in our God we receive the healing power and grace that he so generously offers. He has experienced human suffering and knows what we are going through. He is with us in our trials and will help us rise again. Sometimes we forget the most basic part of all: to ask for the help and have the faith that he will respond. He healed thousands during his time on earth; do we not see that He can do the same for us?

So let us turn first to God. Let us fall on our knees and ‘touch him’ and let him, in all his glory, transform our lives and heal our brokenness.
