The Daily Reflection for Today

I find today's readings a great source of motivation and means of re-focusing where I am, what I am doing, and my purpose. The middle of the semester is upon us here, at Creighton University. Oftentimes, things tend to get a little crazy for students during this time. From personal experience, if one does not remain focused, it is easy to get caught up in it all. In the scheme of things, it is important to remember that this is only one set of tests, one busy time in life. It is not the end of the world. Life is too short to allow one's self to be consumed by this busyness and feelings of stress or anxiety. This idea is true for anyone; students, business people, parents, etc.

Today's responsorial psalm "Save me, O Lord in your kindness" seems like the perfect phrase to repeat during the crazy times life may bring. It reminds us that, by placing our trust in the Lord, everything will be ok. It allows us to remain focused.

This idea is especially appropriate as the season of Lent is upon us. Lent is a time of preparation, a time in which we can re-focus ourselves, and a time to remember what our purpose is. Jesus died for us so that we may live. Let us allow today's readings to serve as a reminder and an inspiration to us to continue living a purposed filled life.
