Cindy Murphy McMahon

I am now retired after 17 years with Creighton's University Communications and Marketing office, most recently as associate director of communications.

I also taught journalism at Creighton in the mid-‘90s.

More about me:

My life has come full circle because it was Creighton University that first brought me to Omaha as a student in 1970. Four years later, I received my B.A. in journalism and later attained a master’s degree from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. The skills I first learned at Creighton have provided a fulfilling career, including newspaper reporting, photography and editing; teaching; public relations and marketing; and freelance writing and editing.

A native of Chicago, I met my husband, Tom McMahon, in Omaha and we have been here for most of our married life. We have been blessed with three sons and now six grandchildren. I most enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, reading, writing, bike riding and connecting with friends and extended family. A special part of our life has been the Christian Life Community (CLC) faith-sharing group we have been in for more than 15 years. In retirement, I am looking forward to even more of the same, along with continued freelance writing and editing.

Writing these reflections:

I am grateful for this opportunity to explore my faith and the Scriptures. I enjoy hearing from, and learning from, people who read the reflections.
