Marty Kalkowski

Chaplain in the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions, since August, 2011. I've been teaching in Creighton’s Department of Theology since 2005.

More about me:

Teresa and I have been married for 21 years, and we have two children; Luke is 18, and Laura is 15.

I love music, and listen to different genres, including Ray Charles, Johnny Cash, or bluegrass. I also enjoy playing the guitar, and reading all kinds of novels, especially historical fiction. I keep reading books concerning Jesuit spirituality and history, as they seem to help me grow.

Writing these reflections:

Whenever I try to write a reflection on God’s Word, if seems to help me to focus on different insights and messages that I need to learn. Sometimes my learning comes from quiet reflection, when I’m alone with God, and at other times my learning comes while I’m engaged in an activity with others.
