Michele Bogard

I am currently the Assistant Vice Provost for Student Life at Creighton.

More about me:

Originally from the Chicago suburbs, I moved to Omaha to take a job in Student Activities at Creighton in 2001.  I thought that I would only be at Creighton for a short time, but quickly came to love and embrace the community.

My educational background includes a BA in International Relations and a MS in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration and a Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Leadership.

When not at work, you’ll find me hanging out with my husband, Max.  I enjoy being a tourist in Omaha and trying new things from restaurants to art exhibits to hikes on a new trail.  I love to travel and try to immerse myself in the local culture.  My favorite place I’ve visited to date is Machu Picchu in Peru.  I also enjoy reading; Carlos Ruiz Zafón is my current favorite author.

Writing these reflections:

This is a humbling experience for me to even be asked to share my thoughts, especially since I know how far reaching these are read.  I hope that my reflections can trigger a new thought or perspective for you, as my colleagues challenge me when I read their reflections.
