Alzheimer's Prayer for a Parent with Alzheimer's The Rosary for Alzheimer's Patient The Sucipe: Take Lord, and receive all my liberty, my memory, my understanding, and my entire will -- all that I have and call my own. You have given it all to me. To you, Lord, I return it. Everything is yours; do with it what you will. Give me only your love and your grace. That is enough for me. -- Ignatius of Loyola |
March 8, 1920 - November 10, 2008 She fought a valiant and graceful battle with Alzheimer's for many years. She was beloved by her children and is greatly missed. Thank you, Mom, for teaching us that laughter, song and prayer can always reach deep into the soul.
"Prayer, like music, can often reach the deepest part of a person’s soul. It is no different for someone with Alzheimer's Disease. Long after many abilities have slipped away, music and prayer can sometimes
remain. Both are learned early in life and have so many repetitions
in the years that follow, that a person even in the later stages of
Alzheimer’s can spontaneously participate. How do we pray with someone who has Alzheimer’s?" If you have a story of praying with someone who has Alzheimer's or a prayer to offer, please share it through the e-mail link below. We will post your sharing anonymously. |
