Praying Ordinary Time

Ordinary Time is a season. There is a small portion of it before Lent. We offer resources for growing in prayer and in our relationship with Our Lord, in the midst of our busy daily lives.

Praying LentThis is the time to begin to get ourselves prepared for our Lenten Journey.

Lent is not something we do for God.

It is a way of opening our hearts to receive what God whats to give us. What might God be offering me this year?

How to get started. What will I do? How can I do this as a family, with children? How does how I cook and eat make a difference? What needs reconciling? With whom?

See resources for parishes. Make a parish mission. Do a retreat. Enjoy a weekly conversation about each week of Lent. Take advantage of a daily prayer, each day of Lent.

See how this Lent can be the best Lent ever.

Fr. John Schlegel, S.J., President of Creighton Univerisity, 2000-2011, has died. See this tribute to him on the Creighton site, including a video of his funeral. Also, John shared with us the audio of what he describes as his "last homily" at Gesu.

The Online Retreat
is a way to give focus to a busy life.
Make the retreat alone,
with a friend, or spouse, in a group
or with a spiritual director.

It is easy.
All we do is let the material for the retreat each week just rest in the background of our daily consciousness and interact with our daily, busy life.

Give it a try. You won't regret it.

Just read or listen to the first week and let it draw you in.
Read the Feedback from those who made the retreat.

Take a look and plan to begin the retreat with people around the world.

Eloquence in Jesuit
Higher Education

For more than 500 years, one of the distinctive traditions in Jesuit education has been Eloquentia Perfecta: Using the Available Means of Persuasion.

Recently, six Creighton colleagues presented their thoughts on teaching Eloquence in Writing, Music, Speech, Dance, Film, our curriculum -- and even in how we present ourselves to the public.
