“Choose life, then, that you and your descendants may live, by loving the LORD, your God, heeding his voice, and holding fast to him.”    Dt 30:15-20

We have a choice every day to live in the way of the Lord.  An opportunity that should not be wasted is taken for granted a lot of the time.  In a world of temptation and negative influence, we must rise above and become the best people we can be.  It is important to look over and review the Ten Commandments because I think we often forget what is right sometimes.  The Ten Commandments lay it all out for us simply.  God challenges our faith and our choices speak of the path we are currently on.  Be aware of what you are doing in life and make choices that put you on the right path.

In the reading, Moses is quoted giving the people the Ten Commandments.  Rules to live by but our choice to adhere to ultimately.  Choose God and it is said, “you will live and grow numerous, and the LORD, your God, will bless you in the land you are entering to occupy.”  Be a blessed individual and shine through all of the hate and wrongdoing going on in the world.  We are called to love one another and I think often times we stop at some point and don’t let others into our lives.  Keep an open heart and mind always and focus on doing what is right to allow yourself to enter the right path.  Love God and love each other.

In my own life, I have made good and bad choices.  The mistakes we make can serve as a learning experience for us.  Don’t discard these mistakes without learning from them, as this can be the most powerful form of learning.  It’s called living and learning and no one is perfect.  We can all be perfect together if we choose to love and respect one another and the choice God gives us.

Happy Saint Valentine’s Day!!

Choose love over all and God bless you.
